Shaoyun Bai (MIT):
Equivariant bordism and resolution of singularities
Abstract
Via the Pontryagin-Thom construction, homotopical bordisms that are equivariant under compact Lie group actions can be characterized geometrically by Kuranishi models or “derived” manifolds. I will explain how to use this perspective to get some structural understanding homotopical equivariant bordisms in the stably complex setting using recent advancement in symplectic topology and resolution of singularities. This is joint work with Abouzaid.
